Melissa is a senior associate at Consortium Legal – Guatemala. She has more than 18 years of professional practice in the banking and financial, agricultural and industrial sectors and has focused her practice in advising local and international clients in banking, corporate and M&A matters, among others.

She has participated in syndicated loans, international issues of debt securities, project finance, securitizations, authorizations of financial institutions, administrative procedures before the Superintendency of Banks, acquisitions, and corporate restructurings of financial institutions, among others.

  • Participation in the drafting of the regulations for the issuance of hybrid bonds in Guatemala.
  • Purchase and sale of 100% of the shares of a bank by one of the largest financial groups in the country.
  • Participation in the securitization of payment rights of a Guatemalan bank under the laws of NYC.
