Martha Lorena is a Partner at Consortium Legal – Nicaragua with 52 years of experience across the agribusiness, banking and financial services, real estate, energy, government and public enterprises, infrastructure, and insurance sectors. She advises clients in banking and finance, corporate law, foreign investment, and regulated industries.

Throughout her career, she has received multiple recognitions for her outstanding legal advice and high-quality services, particularly for her role in the structuring and documentation of syndicated loans for major development projects.

She previously held positions in public administration, serving as Civil Prosecutor, Secretary General of the Ministry of Justice, General Director of Public Registries and State Notary, and Director of Legislative Counsel to the Presidency of the Republic. She has also acted as external legal advisor to the Ministries of Economy and Tourism. Since 1980, she has been a Partner at Consortium Legal – Nicaragua.

She currently advises national banks and serves on the boards of directors of companies in the aquaculture and meat industries. Additionally, she contributes actively to the World Bank’s Doing Business report, ensuring the accuracy and rigor of its annual assessments.
