Karla is a Senior Associate at Consortium Legal – Nicaragua with more than 25 years of experience in Corporate Tax Advisory, serving regulated sectors such as the financial system, microfinance, insurance, and pharmaceuticals, as well as multiple industries including mining, electricity, hydrocarbons, free trade zones, tourism, retail and commercial, construction, telecommunications, logistics, and international transportation.

She is a specialist in tax advisory and comprehensive business consulting, including municipal and customs matters. Her expertise includes the design and implementation of tax and legal strategies for corporate organizational and operational restructurings, mergers and acquisitions, as well as tax and estate planning, processes for obtaining tax benefits and/or recovering tax credits, tax compliance reviews, audits, and administrative and judicial litigation.

Throughout her career, she has worked in local and international law firms specialized in tax law, including her role as a tax consultant at EY and as Tax Manager for the mining sector company B2GOLD in Nicaragua. She has also served as a professor at Universidad Centroamericana (UCA) teaching Tax Law, Tax Practice, and Commercial Law, and as an adjunct professor in Master’s programs at Thomas More University.
