José Evenor is a Partner at Consortium Legal – Nicaragua with more than 55 years of experience in the banking and finance, telecommunications, mining, and retail sectors. He has served as legal counsel for major local and international companies such as Wal-Mart, General Electric, Sony, Caterpillar, Phillip Morris, Citi, GE Finance, the Central American Bank for Economic Integration (CABEI), Movistar, and Enitel (now Claro).

He has also acted as Honorary Consul of Great Britain and Sweden, and as president of service institutions such as Unirse (Nicaraguan Union for Corporate Social Responsibility) and Teleton, supporting children with disabilities.

In 2014, Chambers & Partners awarded him the Lifetime Achievement Award, recognizing his outstanding legal career in the Americas. His experience includes providing legal services to the Government of Nicaragua in external debt negotiations with major commercial banks, the IDB, the World Bank, the IMF, and the Paris Club. He has also held prominent public positions as President of the Central Bank of Nicaragua and Inversiones Financieras, as well as Board Member of the Superintendency of Banks and Financial Institutions.
