Gerardo is a partner at Consortium Legal – Nicaragua with more than 29 years of experience in the food and beverage, banking and financial services, real estate, energy, and retail sectors. He is the country’s leading lawyer in dispute resolution, particularly in commercial litigation and arbitration. He has litigated in the civil and commercial areas and is a certified commercial arbitrator at the Antonio Leiva Pérez Mediation and Arbitration Center of the Nicaraguan Chamber of Commerce and Services.

He has led the firm’s litigation team to a successful outcome in the most relevant litigation cases in the country. He is the only Nicaraguan lawyer recognized, for more than a decade, as a leader in Dispute Resolution by worldwide recognized directories such as Chambers & Partners, LACCA, Latin Lawyer, Legal 500, Who is Who Legal and Benchmark Litigation. 

Former Judge Protempore of the Civil District of Managua, he has taught at the main universities of Nicaragua and at the Judicial School in undergraduate, masters and postgraduate programs in the areas of civil procedural law, bankruptcy law and commercial arbitration. Author of a Civil Procedure Manual and co-author of several manuals on International Commercial Arbitration in Latin America.

  • Co-Counsel and expert in Nicaraguan law in the representation of a client of the medical supplies industry in a civil process in the State of Florida in which a breach of fiduciary obligation, unfair competition, violation of confidentiality obligation was exercised. damages, which concluded with a favorable sentence for the client for more than twelve million dollars.
