Fidel is a Partner at Consortium Legal – El Salvador, with 18 years of experience in corporate law, specializing in mergers and acquisitions, competition law, corporate governance, corporate restructurings, and banking and finance.

He has been involved in high-profile local and regional transactions, advising companies on mergers and acquisitions, as well as on share and asset purchase agreements in industries such as banking, insurance, pharmaceuticals, agribusiness, telecommunications, and retail.

Fidel has represented clients in antitrust clearance proceedings before the competition authority, and in regulatory approvals for relevant shareholders in the banking and insurance sectors. He also has extensive experience in syndicated loans, both domestic and international, advising on credit agreements and collateral structures.

Additionally, he has advised family-owned and business groups in corporate and estate restructurings, designing governance frameworks, family protocols, and agreements to regulate the relationship between shareholders and management.

• Advised General International Telecom Limited on the acquisition of Telefónica’s telecommunications business in El Salvador, including its subsidiaries.
• Participated in advising Grupo ASSA on the acquisition of 100% of AIG’s operations in El Salvador and their subsequent merger.
• Advised Tecnoquímicas on the acquisition of Bayer AG’s generics business (Bonima, S.A. de C.V.).
• Advised Duwest Inc. on the acquisition of inventories and assets from Agroquímica Internacional, S.A. de C.V.
• Participated in advising Banco Cuscatlán on financings of USD 50 million and USD 100 million from Credit Suisse AG for acquisitions and DPR securitization programs.
