David Arturo is a Partner at Consortium Legal – Costa Rica with more than 39 years of experience. He is an expert in financial market regulation and a leading lawyer in banking, securities, and commercial law.

Throughout his career, he has led the legal management of the most significant financial institution acquisitions in Costa Rica and across Central America.

David Arturo has held key positions including Credit Director at INCAE, Chairman of the Board of SCOTIAVALORES, Board Member of Fincomer Bank, SCOTIABANK Costa Rica S.A., and CITIBANK (Costa Rica), as well as Statutory Auditor of Banco LAFISE and Director of the Central Securities Depository of the Costa Rican Stock Exchange.

He currently serves as Vice Chairman of Grupo Cuestamoras, a Costa Rican family-owned business conglomerate with over a century of operations, where he chairs the Corporate Risk and Audit Committee. He has also been a professor at the Universidad Autónoma de Centro América and the Banking Program of INCAE.

• Advised Scotiabank Costa Rica on a financing of over US$70 million granted to the Fondo de Inversión Inmobiliario Multifondos to partially finance the acquisition of the El Cafetal Corporate Center (total purchase price US$127 million).

• Advised Banco Davivienda (Costa Rica) on a US$250 million debt issuance, secured by a portfolio of Diversified Payment Rights (DPRs).

• Advised J.P. Morgan Securities LLC and Bank of America – Merrill Lynch on an international US$500 million issuance under Rule 144A and the purchase of notes by Banco Nacional de Costa Rica.

• Advised Banco Latinoamericano de Comercio Exterior (Bladex) and Wells Fargo Bank N.A. on an US$85 million syndicated loan granted to Banco BAC San José, S.A.
