Cristina is an associate at Consortium Legal – Guatemala.  She has more than 10 years of experience in the food and beverage, retail, agroindustry, transportation, pharmaceuticals, and professional services sectors. She specializes in corporate and tax law, specifically family estate planning, corporate structures, and family-owned businesses.  

Prior to becoming involved in corporate and tax law, she was part of the litigation team at Consortium.  She had previously worked in the Civil Branch of Guatemala’s Supreme Court of Justice.  This gave her a perspective that allowed her to handle corporate and tax matters with an eye toward prevention.  She has a deep understanding of the justice system, contingencies, and interpretations of the applicable judiciary institutions’ norms and procedures.

She is a full professor at the Universidad Francisco Marroquín, teaching Civil Jurisprudence and General Theory of Procedural Law.  She represents Consortium Legal Guatemala in the Guatemala Pro Bono Foundation and was involved in its creation.  She is also a member of the Pro Bono Committee at Consortium Legal Guatemala.
