Associate - Honduras

Claudia is an associate at Consortium Legal – Honduras with more than 5 years of experience. During her career, she has done an internship at the Organization of American States in the sector of the Inter-American Commission on Human Rights, in Washington D.C., specializing in the area of inmates. Subsequently, she did an internship in the area of Banking Law, focusing on registry investigations, successive tracts, merger or granting of credits, pledges, mortgages or any other encumbrance as appropriate, as well as analysis of bank releases, preparing deeds and conducting proceedings on corporations.

Nowadays, she has carried out a variety of procedures in sectors of the Public Administration, such as the National Commission of Banks and Insurance Companies (CNBS) and the Central Bank of Honduras (BCH), and continues to grow in the area of Corporate, Financial and Corporate Compliance.

During her career, she has had experience in income tax exemptions and related processes such as net asset tax, solidarity contribution, capital gains tax and any tax on profits from the sale or rental of goods, rights, or services before the Secretary of Finance.

  • Advice to domestic and foreign insurance companies on compliance processes and registration with the National Banking and Insurance Commission (CNBS).
  • Advising Fundación Operación Sonrisa Honduras and several Non-Profit Organizations in Compliance Matters before several state institutions.
  • Advice to companies such as COLGATE-PALMOLIVE and LUCKY STRIKE to carry out PROMOTIONS/SHOWS before the General Directorate of the Departmental Regime.
  • Advice to various companies on corporate, banking and financial matters; performing due diligence reports, legal opinions, applications and proceedings before the National Banking and Insurance Commission (CNBS) and before the Central Bank of Honduras (BCH), the Revenue Administration Service (SAR) and the General Directorate of Customs Franchises (DGFA).
  • Currently pursuing a Master's Degree in Business Law, at the Universidad Tecnológica Centroamericana (UNITEC), in Tegucigalpa, Honduras.
  • Law Degree with Business Law Orientation, Universidad Tecnológica Centroamericana (UNITEC), Honduras (2018)
  • Member of the Honduran Bar Association
  • Certified Secretary of the Conciliation and Arbitration Center of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Tegucigalpa
