1. General Directorate of Customs announces the El Salvador Reliable Operator Program Manual (AEO-SV)
On January 04, 2023, the General Directorate of Customs, on its website, made available the Manual of the Reliable Operator of El Salvador (AEO-SV).
The purpose of this manual is to establish the rules that regulate the process to obtain the certification, qualification and registration as a Reliable Operator, before the Customs Service of El Salvador; also, the provisions related to the control that will be exercised over the companies that are incorporated into the Program.
2. First Chamber and First and Second Contentious-Administrative Courts will not hear new cases until March 31, 2023.
By means of Legislative Decree number 603, dated December 14, 2022, published in the Official Gazette number 238, Volume number 437, dated December 16, 2021, the terms and effects regulated in the Transitory Provision contained in Article 5 of Legislative Decree number 233, dated December 7, 2021, published in the Official Gazette number 243, Volume number 433, dated December 21, 2021, were extended until March 31, 2023.
3. Transitory provisions of the International Services Law are extended.
By means of Legislative Decree number 587 dated December 2, 2022, published in the Official Gazette No. 239, Volume 437, dated December 19, 2022, the Transitory Provisions to the International Services Law, issued by Legislative Decree number 705, were extended until December 31, 2023.
4. Reforms to the Law of Industrial and Commercialization Free Zones
On November 30, 2022, the Legislative Assembly approved Decree number 586, which contains amendments to the Law of Industrial and Commercialization Free Zones. Said Decree was published in the Official Gazette number 239, Volume 437, dated December 19, 2022 and according to its Article 7, it entered into effect 08 days after its publication.
